Yellow-browed Shrike-Vireo

Yellow-browed Shrike-Vireo, Vireolanius eximius, is a bird of Middle America and northern South America, breeding in eastern Panama, northern Colombia and north-western Venezuela. It belongs to the Vireonidae, the group that includes vireos, greenlets and shrike-babblers. First described by Baird in 1866, it is treated as a single form. It lives in lowland and montane evergreen forest in tropical and lower subtropical areas, and in Panama it is found below 1,000 m, in Colombia to 1,500 m, and in Venezuela mainly between 350 and 1,250 m.
