Yellow-cheeked Tit

Machlolophus xanthogenys

The Yellow-cheeked Tit is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its striking yellow cheeks and black crest, with a white belly and olive-green upperparts. This species is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks in broadleaf evergreen forests, where it feeds on insects, seeds, and fruits. The Yellow-cheeked Tit is known for its acrobatic behavior as it moves through the canopy in search of food. While its population is believed to be declining due to habitat loss, it is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
