Yellow-crested Manakin, Heterocercus flavivertex, is a passerine bird of the Pipridae family that breeds in north-central Amazonia in South America, including Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. It was described by Pelzeln in 1868. It lives in humid várzea forest and other scrubby woodland and forest beside watercourses, including blackwater rivers. The species is resident throughout the year. Males are marked by a golden-yellow crown stripe that may be hard to see, while females lack this feature. Immatures resemble adult females.
