Amazona ochrocephala
The Yellow-crowned Amazon (Amazona ochrocephala) is a striking parrot species known for its vibrant plumage and charismatic personality. These medium-sized parrots are mainly green with a bright yellow crown, blue primary feathers, and red patches on their wings. They are highly social and often form large flocks in their natural habitat. Yellow-crowned Amazons are native to tropical forests and woodlands of Central and South America, where they can be found foraging for fruits, seeds, and nuts. Unfortunately, habitat loss and illegal trapping for the pet trade have led to population declines, and the species is now considered vulnerable to extinction.
