Tyrannulus elatus
The Yellow-crowned Tyrannulet is a small, insect-eating bird found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow crown, and white underparts. This species is known for its energetic foraging behavior, often seen darting through the foliage in search of small insects. It builds its cup-shaped nest in the forest canopy and lays 2-3 eggs. The Yellow-crowned Tyrannulet has a high-pitched, repetitive song that is often heard in its forest habitat. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss poses a potential risk to its populations.
