Yellow-crowned Warbler

Eremomela flavicrissalis

The Yellow-crowned Warbler (Eremomela flavicrissalis) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the woodlands and savannas of eastern Africa. It is characterized by its bright yellow crown and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale yellow, and it has a distinctive black eye stripe. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard during the breeding season. Yellow-crowned Warblers forage actively in the foliage, gleaning insects from leaves and branches. They build cup-shaped nests in dense vegetation and lay small clutches of eggs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future concerns for this species.
