Myioborus flavivertex (Salvin, 1887)

Yellow-crowned Whitestart, Myioborus flavivertex, is a passerine of the New World warbler family that breeds in north-eastern Colombia. It is confined to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where it lives in humid montane forest and cloudforest, both within the forest interior and along the edges. It was first described by Salvin in 1887. The species is resident throughout the year. Its breeding range lies in South America, in north-eastern Colombia, and it is considered common within its restricted area.
