Yellow-faced Flameback, Chrysocolaptes xanthocephalus, is a woodpecker of the West Visayas in the western Philippines, where it occurs on Negros and Panay. It is also known from former records on Guimaras, Masbate and Ticao, where it is now extinct. Its most notable feature is its bright yellow head and crimson red back. It lives in moist lowland forest, including primary and secondary growth, and can also use plantations and clearings if standing trees remain. It was once treated as a subspecies of Greater Flameback before being recognised as a full species.
