Yellow-footed Green Pigeon

Treron chloropterus

The Yellow-footed Green Pigeon, scientifically known as Treron chloropterus, is a medium-sized pigeon species found in South Asia. These birds are known for their vibrant green plumage, yellow feet, and a distinct yellow patch on the underside of their tail. They are predominantly frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and occasionally seeds. Their habitat includes a range of forested areas, including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, as well as wooded areas near human settlements. The Yellow-footed Green Pigeon is often observed in flocks, and their distinctive calls can be heard as they forage for food and roost in trees. Despite facing some habitat loss and hunting pressure, their population is currently considered stable.
