Yellow-green Bush Tanager

Hartertula flavoviridis

The Yellow-green Bush Tanager (Hartertula flavoviridis) is a small passerine bird found in the Andean cloud forests of South America. It is characterized by its vibrant yellow and green plumage, with a distinct olive-green back and bright yellow underparts. This tanager is often found foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest, where it feeds on insects, fruits, and nectar. Its melodious song can be heard echoing through the dense foliage. The Yellow-green Bush Tanager is an important seed disperser and plays a vital role in the ecosystem of the cloud forests. Despite being relatively common within its range, habitat loss and fragmentation pose threats to its population.
