Yellow-green Vireo, Vireo flavoviridis, breeds in Middle America and also reaches southern Texas, then moves to South America outside the breeding season. It is a passerine in the Vireonidae. John Cassin described it in 1851. Its breeding range runs from Mexico south to central Panama. It uses light woodland, forest edges and gardens, and is found from sea level to 1,500 m. It is placed in the canopy and middle storeys. The bird is also known for a nasal nyaaah call and a song that is shorter and quicker than that of the red-eyed vireo.
