Kempiella flavovirescens
The Yellow-green Vireo (Kempiella flavovirescens) is a small, insect-eating bird found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and a distinctive white eye-ring. This vireo is known for its melodious, repetitive song that resonates through the dense foliage. It forages actively in the mid to upper levels of the forest, often joining mixed-species flocks. The Yellow-green Vireo constructs a cup-shaped nest in the understory, where it lays and incubates its eggs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss poses a potential risk to its population.
