Yellow-legged Thrush

Turdus xanthorhynchus

The Yellow-legged Thrush is a medium-sized songbird found in South America. It has a distinctive yellow coloration on its legs, which gives it its name. This thrush is known for its melodious song and is often found in forested areas, including both primary and secondary forests. It forages for insects, fruits, and berries in the understory and can also be seen hopping along the forest floor. The Yellow-legged Thrush is an important seed disperser for many plant species in its habitat. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is still relatively common in its range.
