The Yellow-legged weaver (Ploceus flavipes) is a small passerine bird found in parts of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its striking yellow legs and its intricate, dome-shaped woven nests. The male has a bright yellow crown and underparts, while the female is more subdued with a duller yellow coloration. Yellow-legged weavers are highly social birds and are often found in large colonies, particularly in savannah woodlands and grasslands. They primarily feed on seeds and insects, foraging both on the ground and in the canopy. Despite facing some habitat loss, the Yellow-legged weaver is currently not considered to be at risk and is classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
