Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, Pogoniulus bilineatus, is an African barbet found in western, central and south-eastern Africa. It lives in moist tropical and subtropical parts of sub-Saharan Africa, with a range that includes many countries from Senegal and Gambia through the Congo region to Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It was first described by Sundevall in 1850. The species has six recognised subspecies, each tied to different parts of its broad African range.
