Yellow-shouldered Amazon, Amazona barbadensis, is a parrot of arid northern Venezuela, including Margarita and La Blanquilla, and it also occurs on Bonaire. It is mainly green and has a whitish forehead and lores, a yellow crown and eye area, and yellow on the shoulders and thighs, though these marks can be hard to pick out. The eye-ring is white, and the throat, cheeks and belly often show a bluish tint. It can be told from the orange-winged amazon by the yellow shoulder patch and the blue around the eyes.
