Gerygone flavolateralis
The Yellow-sided Gerygone, also known as the Western Gerygone, is a small songbird native to Australia. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and a distinctive white patch on the side of its face. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the woodlands and forests where it resides. The Yellow-sided Gerygone primarily feeds on insects and spiders, foraging within the foliage of trees and shrubs. It constructs a cup-shaped nest using grass, bark, and spider webs, often placed in a concealed location. While not currently considered threatened, the conservation status of the Yellow-sided Gerygone is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
