Yellow-throated Bulbul

Pycnonotus xanthorrhous

The Yellow-throated Bulbul (Pycnonotus xanthorrhous) is a medium-sized songbird found in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, yellow throat, and a distinctive black stripe running through its eye. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in the forest canopy. Yellow-throated Bulbuls are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits, berries, and insects. They are often found in dense forests, secondary growth, and wooded areas with thick undergrowth. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the population of Yellow-throated Bulbuls is declining, leading to their classification as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
