Yellow-throated Chlorospingus, Chlorospingus flavigularis, is a passerine of the New World sparrows that breeds from Panama to Peru in Middle America and South America. It was described by Sclater, PL in 1852. The species has a complex taxonomic history, and its English name has changed as it was moved out of the tanager group and into Passerellidae. It is treated as having three subspecies, with one form now sometimes regarded separately. Its range is broken up rather than continuous, and it lives in montane and lowland evergreen forest as well as secondary forest.
