Yellow-throated Tinkerbird, Pogoniulus subsulphureus, is a bird of the Lybiidae family found in central and western Africa. It inhabits lowland rainforest across Sub-Saharan Africa, with its breeding range in those same regions. It is associated with primary forest and older secondary forest, where it feeds high in the canopy. Three subspecies are recognised, and the westernmost form shows the strongest contrast in black plumage and the deepest yellow. Birds nearer the coast, and those in noisier places, have been recorded giving higher-pitched vocalisations.
