Yellow-throated Toucan, Ramphastos ambiguus, is a bird of South America, ranging from southern Honduras to western Ecuador and from western Venezuela to central Peru. It belongs to the Ramphastidae family and was described by Swainson in 1823. It is a forest species, with the chestnut-mandibled form mainly in lowland evergreen primary forest and the black-mandibled forms usually in humid primary montane forest. The species is present in gallery forest, older secondary growth, plantations with fruiting trees, and well-treed parks and gardens, and it is a year-round resident across its range.
