Vireo flavifrons
The Yellow-throated Vireo is a small songbird with a distinctive yellow throat and bold white spectacles. This species is known for its melodious, repetitive song that can be heard throughout its breeding range in deciduous forests of eastern North America. It forages actively in the upper canopy, gleaning insects from leaves and branches. During migration, it can be found in a variety of wooded habitats. The Yellow-throated Vireo constructs a cup-shaped nest suspended from a tree branch, where it lays its eggs and raises its young. This species is generally not considered threatened, but it faces habitat loss and fragmentation in some parts of its range.
