Yellow-throated Warbler

Setophaga dominica (Linnaeus, 1766)

Yellow-throated Warbler, Setophaga dominica, is a New World warbler that breeds in eastern and south-eastern USA and spends the non-breeding season in Massachusetts, the Greater Antilles and other wintering areas. It is a woodland bird, especially associated with conifers and swamp trees, where it usually nests. In the breeding season, males show grey upperparts, white wing bars, a yellow throat and black streaking on the flanks, with a bold black-and-white head pattern. The species was described by Linnaeus in 1766.
