Yellow Tyrannulet, Capsiempis flaveola, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family found from southern Nicaragua through Middle America and on into eastern Brazil. It is the only species in its genus. Its range also extends across much of mainland South America, with records from many countries there. It lives in humid lowland country, especially in dense growth, bamboo stands, secondary forest, scrub, mangroves, coffee plantations and other thick cover. It avoids the interior of tall forest and is a year-round resident throughout its range.
