Empidonax flavescens

The Yellowish Flycatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in the forests and woodlands of Central and South America. It has a distinctive olive-green upperparts and yellowish underparts, with a pale eye-ring and a short bill. This species is known for its habit of perching in the mid-story of the forest and making short sallies to catch flying insects. It is often found near streams and in humid areas. The Yellowish Flycatcher is known for its distinctive call, a sharp 'che-bek' or 'pit-ti-tuck'. Despite being relatively common in its range, the species may face threats from habitat loss and deforestation.
