Yucatan Vireo

Vireo masteri

The Yucatan Vireo (Vireo masteri) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It has a distinctive olive-green upper body and a yellowish underbelly, with a white eye ring and dark eye line. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in the dense scrub and forested areas where it resides. The Yucatan Vireo primarily forages for insects and spiders in the canopy and mid-levels of the forest. Its population is currently stable, but it faces potential threats from habitat loss due to deforestation and agricultural expansion.
