Yungas Screech Owl, Megascops hoyi, is an owl of south Bolivia and north-west Argentina, where it lives in moist montane and cloud forest. It is a member of the Strigidae. The bird is known from brown, grey and rufous forms, and shows a grey-brown facial disc, white brows above yellow eyes, and small ear tufts. Its upperparts carry dark markings, while the folded wing has a line of large white spots. The tail is barred and mottled, and the underparts are pale with black streaking on the breast and flanks.
