Passerellidae — New World Sparrows

Yungas Sparrow, Rhynchospiza dabbenei, is a passerine in the family Passerellidae that breeds in south-eastern Bolivia and north-western Argentina. It is a resident of the Southern Andean Yungas on the eastern side of the Andes, where the habitat is evergreen forest in a subtropical highland climate. It was once treated as part of Rhynchospiza strigiceps, and the split later led to its recognition as a separate species. Compared with its former partner, it is larger.
