Yunnan Fulvetta

Suthora zappeyi

The Yunnan Fulvetta, also known as Suthora zappeyi, is a small passerine bird found in the mountainous regions of southwest China. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, yellow underparts, and distinctive white eye-ring. This species is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks, where it actively searches for insects and small invertebrates in the dense undergrowth of broadleaf and coniferous forests. The Yunnan Fulvetta is known for its melodious and varied song, which it uses to communicate with its flock members. Although not much is known about its population trends, its habitat is threatened by deforestation and habitat degradation.
