Hafferia zeledoni
Zeledon's Antbird (Hafferia zeledoni) is a small passerine bird found in the lowland forests of Costa Rica and Panama. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with males having a black head and back, and females having a brownish-olive head and back. These birds forage on or near the ground, feeding on insects and small invertebrates. They are often observed in the understory of dense forests, where they use their sharp calls to communicate with their mates and defend their territories. Zeledon's Antbirds are known for their secretive nature, making them a challenging species to observe in the wild.
