Private Bonaire Birdwatching and Nature Tour
A private half-day or full-day birdwatching route across Bonaire, tailored around northern dry country, coastal lagoons, southern salt pans, mangroves, or Washington Slagbaai National Park.
About this tour
Discover Bonaire through a private birdwatching route shaped around the island's contrasting habitats and your preferred pace. Daria and Nico of Bonaire Reefs to Trees Tours adapt each outing for the group, with half-day and full-day formats available.
A northern route can explore inland water ponds and the dry landscape around Dos Pos and Goto Meer, while a southern route can follow the salt pans toward Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary and Lac Bay mangroves. These routes combine bird observation with the island's natural and historical setting. Travelers who want a longer field day can book a full day tour to visit both the north and south birdwatching hotspots, or request the Washington Slagbaai National Park tour, where birdwatching may be combined with short walks and other nature stops.
Daria is a lifelong bird enthusiast who previously volunteered with parrot conservation on Bonaire. Nico brings experience from hiking, adventure travel, and dive guiding. Their wider operation covers several nature activities, but this BirdWatch experience is arranged specifically around birdwatching and the island habitats that best fit current conditions and the group's interests.
Half-day, full-day, and national-park formats have different published prices and inclusions. Pickup and drop-off are provided at the customer's accommodation on Bonaire. Exact availability, route priorities and the balance between walking and vehicle-based observation are confirmed after inquiry. Birds are wild, so sightings vary with weather, season and current activity.
