About this tour
Only 1.5 hours from Siem Reap is the remarkable reservoir and flooded fields of the Ang Trapaeng Thmor Sarus Crane Reserve, known as ATT.
ATT is a vitally important place for Sarus Cranes, the tallest and most elegant of Cambodia’s waterbirds. Between January and the end of March we can see up to half of Cambodia’s population of these majestic birds as they forage in fields around the man-made reservoir during the dry season. It is one of our favorite places to go birdwatching as there are always so many waterbirds, and there is often something unexpected to be found.

Key Species
Sarus Crane, Spotted Wood-Owl, African Comb Duck, Greater Spotted Eagle, Painted Stork, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Bronze-winged Jacana, Grey-headed Swamphen, White-browed Crake, Cotton Pygmy Goose.
Habitat
A large reservoir surrounded by rice paddies, with a range of grassland and sedge habitats on the northern edge, and a small area of degraded deciduous forest.
