Baird’s Sparrow Viewing Tours – 2026
A private self-drive search for Baird’s Sparrow in southern Saskatchewan prairie, offered as a four-hour half-day or an eight-hour full day.
About this tour
Travel from Saskatoon into open prairie habitat within the breeding range of Baird’s Sparrow. The guide uses the species’ fine trilled song to help locate birds, then selects safe roadside positions for patient observation.
A spotting scope supports views from beside pasture roads, and beginners as well as experienced birdwatchers are welcome. The tour focuses on finding the species responsibly, but weather, singing activity and local movement mean that a sighting cannot be guaranteed.
Choose a four-hour half-day or an eight-hour full-day private programme. Participants use their own or rented vehicle, and most birding can be done from or close to the vehicle. Private dates are available from mid-May through July.
