About this tour
Join a local wildlife photographer for a private Burrowing Owl session in southern Saskatchewan. The programme is timed for late afternoon and early evening, when the owls are more likely to be above ground and the light can favour photography.
The published ethical policy prohibits baiting. Depending on conditions, photography may be from a one-person blind, camouflage position or inside the vehicle, with the guide setting limits that protect the birds. Novice photographers may request help with camera settings.
One-day sessions last four to six hours and are offered on most dates from August 1 through September 15 for one or two photographers. A two-day format is also available for a larger party and provides another opportunity if weather or cattle affect one session.
