Dancing Grouse Photography 2027 – 4 options ideal for great viewing and photos
A private four-hour sunrise photography session near Saskatoon, watching Sharp-tailed Grouse display from a vehicle or optional low-profile blind.
About this tour
Spend an early morning at a Sharp-tailed Grouse dancing ground on private pasture close to Saskatoon. The principal four-hour session is timed around sunrise, when the birds gather at their lek and may be watched and photographed from the left side of the participant's vehicle.
An optional low-profile photography blind can place one photographer at bird-eye level, while other members of the party remain in the vehicle. Activity and photographic conditions depend on weather, and the operator may offer a different date when heavy snow or rain is forecast.
The close-up 2027 season is scheduled from April 24 to May 7. Parties supply a personal or rented high-clearance vehicle, dress for near-freezing early-morning conditions and arrange all meals and accommodation.
