A private 6-8-hour birding and photography day pairing a Magellanic Plover search at Laguna 3 Palos with Andean Condors near the Otway and Skyring sounds.
About this tour
The first half of the day heads northeast from Punta Arenas into open steppe and the brackish habitat around Laguna 3 Palos. Magellanic Plover is the central objective there, with waterfowl and other open-country birds adding variety to the search.
The route then turns west toward higher ground around the Otway and Skyring sounds, where condors use a cliff-side roost and flight area. This year-round private outing lasts six to eight hours and includes a birding guide, 4x4 transport, box lunch and the Condor Reserve fee. Stops remain responsive to weather, light and bird activity.
