Field time combines forest travel, guided birdwatching, observation and carefully paced photography around the nest area. Itinerary
Day 1
Travel toward Meta
Travel from Bogotá to Villavicencio, then continue toward the Meta field area. Settle in and prepare for the forest portion of the expedition.
Day 2
Forest approach and first nest session
Travel by 4x4 toward the trailhead and continue on foot at a pace suited to the group and conditions. After settling into camp, begin a first guided observation and photography session near the Harpy Eagle nest.
Day 3
Harpy Eagle photography
Return to the nest area for dawn and later field sessions, with time for rainforest bird and wildlife observation between photography opportunities.
Day 4
Final observation and return
Make a final morning visit when conditions allow, then begin the return journey toward Bogotá.
