About this tour

Travel with Prague-based ornithologist Jan Grünwald on an ambitious Central European circuit through Czechia, Austria and Hungary. The route connects South Bohemian fishponds and Šumava forests with Alpine habitats, the wetlands of Lake Neusiedl, Kiskunság and Hortobágy, and the bird-rich woodlands and ponds of South Moravia.

The programme is designed for a broad range of Central European specialities, from forest grouse and woodpeckers to Alpine birds, steppe species, raptors and wetland birds. Exact sites and timing are adapted to weather, access and current bird activity; sightings are never guaranteed.
