This private four-hour outing is a concentrated introduction to birding around Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. Rather than following a fixed circuit, Sébastien selects habitat that suits the time of year, current conditions, the guests’ experience and their interests. The session may focus on shoreline, mudflat, salt meadow, marsh or sheltered valley habitat, allowing observation time to be used where it is most valuable.
Sébastien is a trained biologist and naturalist who spent 16 years working for Groupe Ornithologique Normand before becoming an independent guide in 2018. His experience in the bay reaches back more than two decades and includes bird ringing, field research and group leadership. Guidance can therefore cover identification, calls, behaviour and habitat while remaining accessible to both beginners and established birders.
Road travel during the outing is included in Sébastien’s birding vehicle. Binoculars can be loaned and spotting scopes are available for observation at a respectful distance. Guests receive an illustrated report after the visit. Groups are limited to eight, wildlife is approached carefully, and sightings always depend on season and natural activity. Waterproof footwear, rain protection and warm neutral-coloured layers are sensible; dogs cannot join the activity.
