Small-Group Northwest India Birding Tour
A small-group 17-day birding journey across northwest India from Punjab to Rajasthan, Gujarat and Mumbai, estimated at 275-300 species.
About this tour
This small-group 17-day route crosses the arid northwest of India from Amritsar to Mumbai. It opens with cultural visits at the Golden Temple and Akal Takht, followed by Harike Wetlands and Tal Chhapar. Jorbeer and the Demoiselle Crane feeding station near Khichan lead toward two full days in the Thar Desert.
The journey then passes through Siyana and Mount Abu before reaching the Little Rann of Kutch. Two days in the Great Rann follow from Moti Virani, after which a flight from Bhuj reaches Mumbai for Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary. Indian Bustard, Green Avadavat and Forest Owlet are prominent searches. The estimated total is 275-300 species.
Pace and difficulty are easy, with most birding on level ground, sandy tracks and roadsides. Send an inquiry through BirdWatch to discuss seasonal priorities, flight timing, availability and final pricing.
