Ten-Day Ladakh Birding and Cultural Tour
Combine Ladakh birding with monasteries and mountain travel on a ten-day route through Leh, Nubra Valley, Tso Kar and Pangong Lake.
About this tour
Birding remains central to this ten-day Ladakh journey, while the route also leaves room for the region’s monasteries, mountain passes and settlements. Arrival in Leh is followed by an acclimatization day at approximately 3,500 metres. Around Leh, the programme pairs visits to Shey Castle and Thiksey Monastery with birdwatching in nearby marshes.
The route then crosses toward Nubra Valley for visits around Deskit, Panamic, Samstanling and Tirisha before returning to Leh. Later, it moves to Tso Kar for lakeside walks and further observation in marsh habitat. The final excursion goes to Pangong Lake, with birding and wildlife observation near the water, before the return through Hemis to Leh.
Travel is by road across high mountain terrain, with nights in Leh hotels and camps or hotels in the field. The operator’s package includes airport transfers, accommodation and meals, itinerary transport, applicable permits and field optics. A camel ride in Nubra is described as optional, rather than part of the included programme. The published 2026 prices vary with the number of guests; availability and current arrangements are confirmed through BirdWatch.
