This private eight-hour tour links two productive settings within reach of Kingston. An early drive climbs past Newcastle to Hardwar Gap at about 1,200 metres, where coffee country, forest patches and cool mountain conditions support a distinctive highland bird community.
The morning can focus on birds such as Arrowhead Warbler, Blue Mountain Vireo, Jamaican Blackbird and Crested Quail-Dove. After a lunch stop at the guests’ expense, Hope Gardens provides a lower, more open afternoon setting where Yellow-billed Parrots are especially relevant and Black-billed Parrots may join the flocks.
