7-Day Nemunas Delta Bird Observation Tour
A seven-day guided nature and bird-observation program in Lithuania’s Nemunas Delta, combining migration birding, boat and bus excursions and local cultural experiences.
About this tour
The Nemunas Delta Regional Park is one of Lithuania’s outstanding bird areas, especially during spring and autumn migration. In spring, a productive day can bring observations of up to one hundred bird species.
An experienced ornithologist accompanies the program, explains the birds and habitats and answers questions throughout the trip.
The seven-day itinerary combines delta landscapes and birding with boat and bus excursions, Ventė Cape bird-ringing education, Rusnė Island traditions, Mingė fishing heritage and other regional cultural stops.
The strongest published period for this program is March to April. Groups are limited to eight participants.

Airport pickup, transfer to Nemunas Delta, dinner on the way and overnight in the delta.
Breakfast, a short Rusnė town tour, island sightseeing and local traditions including fish smoking, boat building, reed cutting, herb gathering and fish soup preparation.
Boat through Nemunas Delta to Mingė, visit local fishing heritage, continue to Uostadvaris water-lift station and lighthouse, then return for dinner and overnight.
Bus excursion to the Aukštumala nature trail and Ventė Cape bird-ringing station, followed by Kintai and the surrounding birding landscape.
Explore Šilutė and its regional heritage sites before dinner and overnight.
Travel to Rambynas Hill for regional-park landscapes, museum exhibitions and local heritage activities.
Breakfast or a breakfast box, followed by the airport transfer.
