Cross from Humid into Dry Chaco over five private days, using saline lagoons, thorn forest and protected areas between Benjamin Aceval and Neuland.
About this tour
This five-day circuit compresses the main Chaco contrast into one route from Asuncion. It begins near Benjamin Aceval in wetter palm and grassland country, then continues to saline lagoons and the thorn forest and open habitats of the Dry Chaco.
Field sites include Laguna Capitan, Campo Maria, Chaco Lodge or Filadelfia Reserve, Fortin Toledo and a Neuland reserve. Salt-water birds, Chaco endemics and mammals share the programme, and the operator gives roughly 210–240 birds as a possible trip total. Night activity and the choice between alternative reserves depend on weather and access.
The published starting price is USD 1,500 for one guest. May through October is the operator’s general recommendation for Chaco and Pantanal routes, though final suitability, lodging, meals, vehicle, reserve permissions and the quote must be confirmed through BirdWatch.info.

Itinerary
Day 1
Benjamin Aceval and Laguna Capitan
Leave Asuncion very early, bird near Benjamin Aceval in the Humid Chaco and continue to Laguna Capitan for afternoon work around the saline waters.
Day 2
Saline lagoons and Campo Maria
Begin at the salt-lake habitats, then move to Campo Maria or Chaco Lodge for endemic birds and the evening period.
Day 3
Chaco Lodge or Filadelfia Reserve
Choose between Chaco Lodge and Filadelfia Reserve according to access, weather and activity, concentrating on dry woodland and open-country species.
Day 4
Fortin Toledo and Neuland
Visit Fortin Toledo and the Tagua Conservation Project, then use the afternoon in a reserve near Neuland.
Day 5
Neuland morning and return
Take two to three early hours for final Neuland birding before the road journey back to Asuncion.
