About this tour

San Rafael is described by Wildlife Paraguay as the best birding spot in Paraguay, with more than 430 known bird species and a strong concentration of Atlantic Forest endemics and threatened species.

This three-day route starts from Asuncion, birds en route to San Rafael, spends a full morning in Kanguery forest and finishes with another forest birding session before returning. In the best season, the route can produce about 150 to 200 bird species.
