About this tour
Explore Terceira Island’s wetlands and coastal birding areas on a private outing shaped around the season and recent field conditions. The guide selects the most productive stops for the day, then adapts time at each site to the birds present and the guest’s priorities.
The island brings together resident birds, migrants arriving from northern Europe and dispersive species from the Iberian Peninsula and Mediterranean region. Possibilities can include Common Moorhen, Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit, Kentish Plover and Glossy Ibis. These are representative birds from the partner’s Terceira wetland records, not guaranteed sightings.
The experience normally lasts about three to four hours. Hotel pickup, transport between observation sites, a professional guide, drinking water and the return transfer to the hotel are included. The route may combine shallow wetlands, muddy margins, grassland edges and coastal observation points, depending on access, weather and current bird activity.

Day 1
Wetlands and coastal birding around Terceira
Meet the guide at the agreed hotel and travel to the island’s most productive wetland and coastal birding areas for the current season. Move between observation sites with time adjusted to recent sightings and any priority species, then return to the hotel after approximately three to four hours.
