Private West Coast National Park Birding Day Tour
A private full-day journey from Cape Town to West Coast National Park for Black Harrier, Karoo birds and thousands of seasonal lagoon waders.
About this tour
Drive north from Cape Town into West Coast National Park and explore the park’s strandveld, open country and lagoon edge by vehicle and from selected viewpoints. The route is timed around the tide when possible so the lagoon bird hide can be visited at its most productive.
Summer can bring thousands of waders, while the surrounding habitats add sought-after raptors and Karoo species. Roughly 60–80 species may be encountered, but sightings and totals vary.
