Meet your guide at George Airport and stop for lunch before the first forest walk. Search the canopy and understorey for Garden Route forest birds, then settle into treetop accommodation. The evening is spent at the forest lodge.
Return to the forest early to cover a different section before breakfast at the lodge. Later, use the tide to guide a coastal session for waders, terns and cormorants, followed by lunch in Sedgefield. Return to the forest lodge for dinner.
Start from a hide beside open water with a packed breakfast and time for grebes, cormorants and kingfishers. Continue through nearby fynbos and bushveld, then visit Buffels Bay before lunch. Transfer to Knysna, check in and finish with a visit to the Knysna Heads, where Peregrine Falcons may be present.
When recent activity and conditions are suitable, an optional pre-dawn session can be used to seek flufftails. After breakfast, concentrate on fynbos and the Knysna Estuary before lunch in the area. The afternoon is planned for boating and walking in a protected reserve, with a land-based alternative if weather prevents the cruise.
Have breakfast at the guesthouse and check out without an additional scheduled field session. Transfer to George Airport for the onward journey. The programme ends at the airport.
