Itinerary ▼
Meet at George Airport and travel into the Klein Karoo for lunch and a wine tasting near Calitzdorp. Continue to the first lodge, then use an easy afternoon walk to become familiar with resident bush birds. Dinner is at the lodge.
Begin with a sunrise birding drive and breakfast outdoors before travelling toward Vanwyksdorp. After a local stop, continue through Seweweekspoort for a picnic and a short river walk, then check in at a secluded reserve. An afternoon drive focuses on Karoo specialties; clear and suitable weather may allow stargazing after dinner.
Use the cool early hours for another reserve drive and searches for species missed the previous afternoon. Return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by lunch and unhurried time to rest or review sightings. Resume birding in the softer late-day light before dinner.
Set out early, pausing in Oudtshoorn before climbing the Swartberg Pass. Work the mountain-fynbos zone for high-altitude specialties and have a packed lunch at a scenic point. Descend to Prince Albert for the evening and dine at a local restaurant.
After breakfast, take the scenic route toward George through Meiringspoort. Stop at the waterfall for a final, relaxed birding session before continuing to George Airport. The tour concludes on arrival at the airport.
