About this tour

Cover a compact but varied set of Garden Route habitats around Sedgefield. Forest sections offer the possibility of Narina Trogon, Olive Bushshrike and Blue-mantled Crested Flycatcher, while the lakes and wetlands shift attention to African Finfoot, Malachite Kingfisher and secretive flufftails. If seabirds are a priority, the route can continue to the coast for terns, gulls, cormorants and African Oystercatcher. Site selection remains responsive to your wish list and the day's conditions.

Itinerary

Day 1
Sedgefield from forest to coast

Meet at your Knysna or Sedgefield guesthouse and begin in the habitat best suited to the morning's priorities. Move between forest and the lakes area, adding a coastal stop when your target list and conditions make it worthwhile. Coffee, rusks and muffins provide a break before the return transfer in time for lunch.
